Training Session Held at Manhattan Special Economic Zone

On June 29, 2026, a training session on the improvement of commuter vehicles for workers and the application of designated identification stickers was held at Manhattan Special Economic Zone in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province. The event focused on enhancing the comfort, safety, and standardized management of vehicles used for workers’ daily transportation, reflecting the Cambodian government’s continued attention to labor welfare and transport safety.

Government, Local Authorities, Enterprises, and Transport Operators in Attendance

The session was jointly presided over by Ms. Min Manavy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and H.E. Kou Soman, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. Mr. Meun En, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng Province, attended on behalf of the Provincial Governor. Also present were Lieutenant General Chea Hak, Deputy Commissioner General of the National Police, officials from relevant departments, local administrative representatives, factory and enterprise representatives from the zone, transport operators, and a large number of commuter vehicle drivers.

Strengthening Vehicle Safety Inspections and Identification Management

During the session, officials emphasized that human resources are a core driving force of national economic development. Enterprises and vehicle owners were urged to strictly prohibit overloading, carry out regular technical safety inspections, and ensure that qualified commuter vehicles display the required colored identification stickers for easier supervision by competent authorities. A technical demonstration on vehicle inspection was also conducted on site, along with an official sticker application ceremony for commuter vehicles that had passed inspection.

Supporting Government Policy and Improving Worker Commuting Conditions

Manhattan Special Economic Zone actively supports the coordinated efforts of Cambodian government ministries and relevant authorities to further standardize safety requirements for commuter vehicles serving workers in the zone. Through vehicle inspections, identification management, and targeted training, the zone will continue to assist in implementing government policy, providing workers with a safer, more comfortable, and more orderly commuting environment while supporting the stable operation of enterprises within the zone.
